Great job to Mapleton girls’ and boys’ basketball teams and our fans who all showed up big in Junction City on Saturday!Our boys finished their undefeated league campaign with a 62-34 win over Triangle Lake. Their stifling defense, consistent outside shooting, and a 20-0 second quarter run earned them a lead that just kept growing! The boys earned league the league champion and league tournament champion trophies!Our girls’ team battled Mohawk all four quarters, in a defensive showcase where the teams were within five points of each other all game. They fell three points short, losing 30-27. Their team earned 2nd place in the league and 2nd place in the tournament. This is the first time since 2004 that both teams qualified for the state tournament!!! The boys host Tuesday night at HOME against Bonanza (time TBD). The girls open on the road Wednesday at (fairly) nearby North Douglas. Let’s continue to show up and support and represent Mapleton loudly!!Lastly, huge congratulations to the players and coaches listed below, a ton of league recognition for the great job our players and coaches are doing!
